Today I went on a 6 mile run around Lake Union. Hard the first mile, but after that it felt great!

Today's Workout-Bikram!


Today I had a great Bikram workout! I pushed it really hard and it felt fantastic! I love it when I actually feel like I am advancing in some of the difficult poses! I also walked there and back, a total of at least an hour walk!

Today's Workout-Spinning!


Today I decided to go to a spinning class. It was a great, hard workout. I am currently working on closing on our first home and wedding planning like a crazy person. So, in other words, I really needed a hard work out....And I definitely got one!

Today's Workout- Lake Union Run and City Walk!


This morning I forced myself out of bed to run the 6-7 mile Lake Union Loop. It took all my energy to get out that door and during the first mile, I considered turning back, but I am so glad I did it! I read a quote once that said something like, "you can regret staying in bed, but you will never regret a work out". That could not be more true!

Later today, my sister Breanne and I went on a 2 hour walk around the city! Another 600 calories burned.

Today's Workout-Bikram!


This morning I woke up early and did a 90 minute Bikram yoga class. It was a great class. For some reason it didn't feel as hot as normal, so that helped!

Tonight I ran the 6-ish mile Lake Union Loop. I went the opposite way then I used to, which starts with a long steep hill. So, I was really tired the entire run, and you can tell by my calories burned!

Yes, today I went on ANOTHER run! I am becoming a little predictable. I was going to go spinning, but it was way too beautiful out not to be out in it! So, Eddie and I went on about a 3 mile run.

Today's Workout- Run!


So, I went out to run my little 3 mile run. But, I walked out of my apartment with the wrong set of keys! It was 7:15 and Eddie didn't get off work until 8! I did what any runner who didn't want to stand around cold does, I ran for an hour! I ran the South Lake Union Loop. I have been having problems with my IT band, so I told myself as soon as it started hurting, I would stop. But it didn't hurt me the entire time! I am so excited! I finished my 6 mile run right as Eddie got home. It was the perfect workout!

Today's Workout- Bikram!


Tonight I did Bikram for the first time in about 2 weeks. Last time I did it, I felt terrible afterwards so I was really nervous. But, the class went great and I felt wonderful afterwards! It reminded me again how much I really love Bikram!

Vacation Workouts!!!


Eddie and I went to Vancouver BC this weekend. We had a fantastic time! 

My Fiance is fantastic, and since he knows how much my world is not complete without a little work out, he surprised me with a... Can you believe this... A workout hotel room! Our room was complete with a treadmill, Pilates equipment and weights! It was fantastic!

With that said, I ran about 3 miles every day in Vancouver!!

Friday- 31 minute run      305 calories burned
Saturday- 30 minute run  277 calories burned
Sunday- 33 minute run    327 calories burned

Also, every single day we walked almost the entire day and even went biking on Saturday around Stanley Park!

Today's Workout- 30 Day Shred!


A few weeks ago I got the 30 Day Shred DVD by Jillian Michaels. I kept hearing the best things about it! I was so excited to finally try it!

The program is of 3 different levels of 20 minute circuit weight/cardio training. 

I just did level 1 today and it was HARD! It might be because the weights they use are like 3-5 pounds and I used 10 pound weights. Either way it kicked my butt!!!

Caffeine for Workouts


I am a big believer in having a little coffee before a work out. I really see a difference in my work outs. I can push just a little harder and longer.

I am really not surprised at all of the hype about the use of caffeine and work outs. It has been getting a lot of press lately though. I even saw it on the local news. I thought this was a good article about it's positive effects.

Please note: I said a "little" coffee. Do not have a large drip coffee too soon before your workout... that will NOT improve your workout! If you are like me, you will get very very sick. 

Facebook is good for you???

It is nice to hear there is some evidence that spending WAY TOO MUCH time on Facebook may actually have positive affect on  your health!

Today I had a great spinning class. It was hard for me to do because it was so pretty out, but it felt great!!!

Today's Workout- Hike!




Today my Fiance, Ed, and I went on a hike up the Rattle Snake Ridge in North Bend. It was beautiful out and a great little hike. It was about an hour up and an hour down. At the top there was still a bit of snow, which meant a lot of mud. It was quite the obstacle course.

Today's Workout- Lake Union Run!


This morning I went on a run around Lake Union with Breanne. It was FINALLY beautiful out and it felt great to run outside. The run is a little over 6 miles. At about mile 5 I started getting some serious knee pain again. So I was forced to walk the last mile. I guess I have a lot more recovering to do than I thought. It still felt great to get out there and run though. It is hard when your lungs can do it but your body isn't ready yet.

For today's workout I did a 60 minute step and weight lifting class. It was great to do and I needed it! I don't do half as much weight lifting as I should. Right before class I squeezed in 10 minutes on the stair climber.
