I woke up early this morning to do a workout I haven't tried yet for the P90X program. I have been liking what I have been doing so much, I almost forgot there were DVDs I haven't even looked at! I read on a web site that the Core Synergistic workout was really hard, so I was looking forward to trying it.
I popped in the DVD and it will full of push ups, planks and mountain climbers. I haven't done any of those for a while, so it was a great work out! I was working hard and it showed in my calories burned!
After work I took a hour spinning class. The instructor is hard core! Spinning bikes have resistant knobs on the bikes to increase and decrease the resistance during the work out.
I know a lot of people think spinning is a crazy and scary work out but it really isn't. You can really make the workout however you want it, using the resistance to make it hard or relatively easy.
Well, of course that is the case when you don't have this instructor! She'll come off the bike and adjust your resistance knob until she feels you are at the level she want you to be. I actually think it a good idea, because she can tell you how she thinks you are doing. Really helps to gage your workout. I will definitely be going to her again!
But, if you are a beginner at spinner, go to a easy instructor and ease into the workout. You won't regret it!
Today I had a walking date with my friend Nick. We don't hang out half as much as we should, so I am glad we got together!
I told him walk date, but he probably thought an hour walk around Ballard or something. Oh, but no! I dragged him all the way downtown and back. The whole walk took us about 5 hours and we walked about 7.5 miles. I haven't walked that long since my sister moved to L.A. and I missed it.
It was a good day!!!

This morning I woke up early to go on a 3 mile run around my neighborhood. Felt good, but it was "misting" the entire time. Better than full on rain any day! I ran to the store actually and got some coconut water (a new obsession), then went home. After I got home I did P90X Ab Ripper X, kicks my butt (or abs) every time!
3 mile run (and store)- 440 calories 15 minutes Ab Ripper x- 133 calories
I took a spin class during my lunch today. It felt really great and a perfect way to break up a work day. I think I am going to do it more often, especially on Fridays. Once the day is usually over, working out is the last thing I want to do!
I never thought of myself as "fat". I knew I was out of shape, but to tell you the truth I didn't care. I was the chubby kid, always have been. I really thought that was just the way I am. I didn't work out in high school. I tried Cross Country one year and finished last every single race, besides once because someone else didn't finish.
I went to college and did the opposite from taking care of myself. I ate fattening sorority food and drank... A LOT. I came out even "chubbier".
Around November, I don't know why, but I can only explain it as a "wake up call". I seriously woke up one day and realized I didn't want to be like this my whole life. So I started working out. I started using the elliptical for 20 minutes and was barely being able to make it.
Now, I am working out almost every day and obsessed with making myself as fit as possible.
Since then, I've lost about 45 pounds and 4 jean sizes. I feel phenomenal!
